Independent support, for sports minds

Who I am

I bring a wide variety of performance environment experience. I spent 10 years as a premiership player in my sport, then I spent five years in Michelin-recommended tasting kitchens; a place where only the performance brains thrive, now I spend my days in performance sport, supporting leaders & athletes towards their goals. In the mean time, I study environment creation, and what it means to create a sustainable love for sport.

For over a decade, I have navigated the sporting calendar from every angle. I have competed at the elite level in the Premiership and for England U20s, worked in professional sports operations, and coached Tier 2 rugby.

To ensure I do this work safely, I hold an MSc in Professional Development & Performance Sport, an Advanced Coaching Award, and formalized mentorship qualifications. I never stop studying. The result, is I understand the operations of sport, and exactly how it feels to be both the coach and the athlete.

What I do

At Parallax, we will build a deliberate space in the eye of the storm, allowing you room to reflect and be purposeful in your path forward.

I offer two areas of specialty: Athlete Transitions and Athlete & Coach Support. All athletes encounter transitions; moving up age grades, navigating long injury lay-offs, moves in teams, deselection, or retirement.

Having someone in your corner who is entirely independent of your team or your National Governing Body makes a difference to the sustainability of your career. I am removed from the selection process and the performance obligations of your environment. Safe in the knowledge that I hold no weight in your team's hierarchy, I am present solely for your goals.

What sessions look like

The mentoring process at Parallax is constructivist; meaning we build the path together. Sessions are 50 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. I practice in person in Birmingham, UK, and online across any time zone where our calendars align, with evening and weekend availability.

We begin by understanding your context and your current relationship with your sport or team. From there, we find the right questions to ask, bespoke to your story and your goals.

Together, we take a deliberate pause to build a clear understanding of the friction you are experiencing. As we look for answers, we use different frameworks to explore how solutions might unfold. Finally, we form a deliberate plan, and I help keep you focused on that journey as we move forward.

For coaches, this often looks slightly different, as you may arrive already grappling with highly specific questions. Here, I act as a second set of eyes as you navigate your calendar. We walk through possible routes of action and ensure you remain deliberate with your time—preventing you from getting swept away in the season's firefighting.

Clear goals in mind, full of joy for the sport.
